20 Months Old

Dylan turned 20 months old today, getting closer and closer to the big #2! I'm trying to decide if we'll have a big party again like last year. I'm thinking maybe just something small to celebrate the occasion this year. He loves Elmo and Curious George, so one of those will probably be the theme. Our little guy is growing up right before our eyes. It's amazing to see him changing, but I also miss my little baby boy! His language development and understanding keep surprising me. He is learning to count (1-10) and also trying to do his ABC's (CDCDE...G...S - he still has a way to go, but he's trying!). He also loves music and singing. He is learning parts of his favorite songs like "Ole, ole...feeling hot, hot, hot" (by Elmo). He’s even learning some manners, requesting his “nulk teez” (milk please). I imagine all of this is normal development for a child his age, but not having raised any other children, I often assume that he is brilliant and far advanced from other kids his age. (And I know his hair is getting long again; it's about time for another trim - it's just so pretty!)

Happy One Year Blogging!

Dylan - March 2006
Well, it's been a whole year since we started this blog and it's amazing how much Dylan has changed in that time. It's hard to believe what a little boy he's becoming. He talks a lot these days, trying out new words every day. His latest words are bulldozer, lawnmower and wheelbarrow, and they actually do sound almost like the real words. He understands pretty much everything we say (which is a little scary!). His little brother will be joining the family soon (two months left). I think it may be a little difficult for Dylan at first, since he has been the star of the show, but I think in time he will love and welcome the new addition.

Dylan's First Snow!

We went up to Tahoe this past weekend, so Dylan could have his first snow experience. It was probably one of the best weekends of the season and it was beautiful! Dylan got all decked out in his new snow gear. He and his daddy played in the snow and went sledding down the hill. They had a great time!

In other news, Dilly just turned nineteen months old last week. It truly is amazing how fast he's grown and changed since he was once such a tiny little tyke! His vocabulary is taking off (now he just needs to work on pronunciation). He's even started making sentences.

Dilly in a Basket

Here's another video clip... Please note that the very end was cut off where I say that the sign Rob makes should be upside down. (Hook 'em Horns! to any Texas fans)
