I think the "terrible twos" are definitely upon us! While Dilly is mostly my sweet, loving and charming little boy - we're starting to see his inner beast a bit more these days. He even has a little smirk that accompanies the nasty attitude. While we've begun implementing time outs, I have to question whether they are even really working. This is when parenthood is difficult. Some days it seems like everything is a battle - from what to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner, wanting to watch that same goddamn Mickey Mouse episode again, wanting to put on his muddy rain boots inside the house, convincing him not to let the cats outside and not to go outside by himself, and God forbid you try to suggest that taking a nap might make him a bit more reasonable (I won't go on, but believe me I can!!). I hear three can be even harder, but I'm too busy dealing with two to give a damn! In other news Dylan is sporting a new "boy" haircut. I accidentally let the Super Cuts lady totally snip away his sweet little curls. Not to worry though we will let it grow out again. Luke is all over the place - trying to walk, pulling himself up on to everything and cruising around, going for the cat food and laughing while Dylan's acting like a beast (hopefully thinking to himself - I'll never act like that kid!). His two front teeth have finally come through and they are huge; it's no wonder it was so hard for him! Now his dad can't call him snaggle-tooth. The boys are playing together more and more and it really is so cute! Soon they'll be able to keep each other busy all day and hopefully this parenting thing will get a little easier (ha! don't worry I'm really not that delusional).
Edited to add: Despite Dylan's appalling behavior he's still pretty cute. This morning he told me, as we were getting out of bed, "Mama, don't go anywhere... without me!"

Mama
Well here is video proof of Luke saying Mama. With some help from me and Dylan, we actually got him to say it while the camera was on. Listen carefully and you'll hear him towards the end of the clip.

Go Bolts!
Well since my team officially sucks, we are now a Chargers house. Here are the two littlest fans all decked out and routing their team to victory last Sunday. So far 2008 is going okay - despite a power outage, several big storms and a nasty flu that Dylan is still recovering from! We had a nice holiday break and Santa visited us Christmas morning, much to Dilly's delight. Luke just turned 8 months old and he is on the move. He can crawl at lightning speed and is pulling himself up on everything he can - the boy seems to think he's ready to walk! As of last night he has said his first word...MAMA!!! :-) He is sprouting his top two front teeth and soon will have a total of 8 teeth. It is amazing how fast he's growing. Dylan is recovering from a week-long battle with the flu, but is feeling better. He will be 2 1/2 at the end of the month. He is fully conversational and quite aware of the world around him. He is continually surprising us with the things he says. Hope everyone is doing well.
